Using Readspeaker

The ReadSpeaker tool allows people living with visual impairments to easily access information on our website.

To use ReadSpeaker, click the ‘listen’ button located on the left-hand side of the page.

The control panel will appear and ReadSpeaker will begin reading the web page text out loud.

In the ReadSpeaker control panel you can:

  • pause and stop the reading
  • rewind and fast forward the reading
  • change the volume
  • download the page as an MP3 file.

You can choose to listen to a few paragraphs instead of the whole page. Highlight the text that you want to listen to and select the pop-up listen button which appears next to the mouse pointer.

The ReadSpeaker control panel also offers a range of accessibility options including:

  • read on hover
  • enlarge text
  • text mode
  • page mask

You don't have to download anything to use ReadSpeaker.
