- Tackling graffiti to look after our public spaces
Graffiti is illegal, and we need your help to reduce the impact of graffiti in our community.
We received reports that all four outdoor dining pods in Mountain Gate Shopping Centre were vandalised with graffiti last week. Works to remove graffiti from the varnished timber and Perspex shelter have been completed. It took several attempts to remove the graffiti from the surfaces.
Tackling graffiti in our community is important for us. Graffiti affects how our community looks and it can make people feel unsafe.
Quick removal of graffiti sends a message that it is not tolerated and reduces the chances of it happening again. We remove graffiti from Council assets within five working days, and we aim to remove offensive graffiti within 24 hours.
If you spot graffiti in Knox, report it to us by:
- using Vandaltrak – a simple, online reporting tool and phone app
- reporting graffiti directly through Council's online services, or
- calling Customer Service on 9298 8000
Help us look after our community spaces and Council assets.
We also assist with the removal of graffiti on private property by offering free graffiti removal kits and discount paint vouchers. To access the free kit and voucher, contact Customer Service on 9298 8000.
Further information is available on our Graffiti webpage.
