About Kings Park
Located in Upper Ferntree Gully at the foothills to the Dandenong Ranges, Kings Park is a hub for local sport and recreation including baseball, little athletics, Australian rules football and cricket.
Dog park
Construction of a new fenced dog park was completed in November 2025. The new dog park features:
- two separate fenced off-leash areas, including an area for small and shy dogs
- walking path circuits
- picnic tables and picnic shelter
- seating
- rubbish bins
- drinking fountain
- an improved site drainage system.
Dog owners can continue to use the wider Kings Park for dog walking.
This project was supported by the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.
Kings Park masterplan
The Kings Park Masterplan [PDF 4.4 MB] is a long-term vision for the future development of Kings Park. It was developed with input from community and was endorsed by Council in November 2023.
The masterplan identifies possible site improvements and facility upgrades and guides us on how to meet the needs the community into the future. Possible future projects listed in the masterplan are subject to further feasibility research, community consultation and Council's annual budget process.
