Knox Factor 2023

Knox Factor is a talent competition for aspiring vocalists from 5 to 25 years of age, who either live, study, work or play within Knox.

About

Knox Factor is an annual talent competition, open to young singers of all skill levels and vocal styles.

Applications for Knox Factor 2023 have closed. Stay tuned to the Knox Arts and Events Facebook for updates.

The competition categories include 5 to 11 years, 12 to 15 years and 16 to 25 years.

The Knox Factor Grand Final will take place at Knox Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 9 December 2023.

What to expect

Successful applicants are in the running for:

  • Professional mentoring in vocal technique, song writing, song choice and stage performance
  • Public performance opportunities including the Knox Factor Grand Final at Knox Carols by Candlelight 2023
  • Prizes awarded in each category, and will include a mix of studio recording time, awesome music gear and professional coaching sessions.
  • Local music and arts networking opportunities and exposure to the industry

Stage Details

Stage 1
Friday 4 August 2023

Online applications close at 5:00pm.

Friday 18 August 2023 Successful candidates will be notified.

Stage 2
Wednesday 27 September 2023 (6 to 9pm)

Live heats
Successful singers will perform live at the Knox Community Arts Centre to an audience and panel of judges.

Stage 3
Wednesday 1 November 2023 (6 to 9pm)

Semi final
Successful singers will perform live at the Knox Community Arts Centre to an audience and panel of judges.

Stage 4
Saturday 9 December 2023 (5 to 8pm)

Grand final
Successful singers will perform live at Knox Carols by Candlelight to an audience and panel of judges.

Judging

Our judges come with outstanding resumes in vocal and music performance. Their decisions are final and scoring is largely dedicated to vocal technique, with some points also awarded for performance and entertainment value.
