Looking for fun and engaging activities for children and young people these July school holidays? We've got you covered!
The Knox Youth Services team, Knox Community Arts Centre, and local libraries are offering a variety of activities for young people who live, work, study, or have a connection to Knox. Whether they are into arts, cooking, games, sport, or just looking for something new to try, there's something for everyone.
Knox Youth Hive
Knox Library - Ngarrgoo, 425 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna South
Creative Crafternoon (10 to 25 years)
Monday 7 July, 2pm – 4pm
Join us at the Youth Hive for a fun-filled afternoon of crafting! Whether you're making friendship bracelets, trying beading, enjoying some colouring or bring in a special photo to create a personalised keyring, there's something for everyone. No experience needed - just bring your creative spirit!

Martial Arts - Karate (10 to 18 years)
Tuesday 8 July, 10:30am – 12pm
Get moving, build confidence, and learn the basics in our beginner-friendly martial arts workshop! No experience needed—just bring your energy and a positive attitude!
Money Talks (15 to 20 years)
Thursday 10 July, 6pm – 7:30pm
Learn how to build healthy relationships with your money. No boring lectures- just real talk, real tips and real impact. Free pizza and snacks provided. Please make sure to list any dietary requirements when booking into this program.
Jobs and Skills with Swinburne (14 to 25 years)
Monday 14 July, 1pm – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 4pm
No clue what you want to be when you grow up? Swinburne’s got your back at the Youth Hive with two hands-on sessions to help you figure it out.
Career Myth Busting: Challenge some common career assumptions and discover new ways to back yourself and your future.
Design Your Career Path: Explore different career directions and start shaping a pathway that suits your interests and goals. Please note both topics will be covered during each session!

Overcooked Mayhem (13 to 25 years)
Thursday 10 July, 1pm – 3pm
Ready for some tasty chaos? Team up and play Overcooked on the Switch and whip up your own yummy mug cakes! It’s fast, fun and full of flavour – no cooking skills needed! Please make sure to list any dietary requirements when booking into this program.
Mahjong Mania for beginners (10 to 25 years)
Tuesday 15 July, 2pm – 4pm.
Ready to mix, match, and make some moves? This is a fun and beginner-friendly activity designed for young people who want to learn the classic game of mahjong. With easy-to-follow guidance and lots of laughs, you’ll be stacking tiles and spotting winning hands in no time—no experience needed!
Mahjong Mania 2.0 (10 to 25 years)
Wednesday 16 July, 2pm – 4pm.
Ready to play? This session builds on Tuesday’s skills and offers a fun, supportive space to practise. Already familiar with mahjong? You're more than welcome—this activity is perfect for all skill levels. Please note this activity is all about bringing people of all ages together, so you'll get to connect with people from different generations.

STUFF! (School Holiday Feature Show) (5+ years)
Thursday 10 July, 11am.
Join Jon and Jero these School Holidays for STUFF! With your help, these bumbling brothers will travel far and wide to get their STUFF back in this fast and fun choose-your-own-adventure. This high-energy hour of silly proportions combines physical comedy, characters, music, improvisation and most importantly, STUFF! Exploring themes of friendship, hopefulness, exploration, connection and imagination, audiences will join them on an epic journey across strange and wonderful lands.

Minecraft School Holiday Edition (8-13 years)

Join us for a special school holiday Minecraft event. Play Minecraft Education - craft, create and learn while building a world together! Laptops will be provided for this event.

Stop Motion & Green Screen Fun (7-18 years)
Friday 18 July, 9:30am and 3:30pm.
Ferntree Gully Library, 1010 Burwood Hwy, Ferntree Gully.
Come and have fun with Stop Motion & Green Screen Movie Tech! This is an introduction to Stop Motion & Green Screen tech where we plan and then create! Some props such as dinosaurs, along with dress ups will be provided for use or feel free to bring your own action figures or costumes to transform you into another universe.
