Gilbert Park upgrades

Knox City Council has carried out a number of upgrades to transform Gilbert Park since 2020, including the skate pavilion, fencing, sports lighting, the play space and the batting cage.

Gilbert Park upgrades

Since 2020, Knox City Council has upgraded Gilbert Park. We have improved:

  • the skate pavilion
  • fencing
  • sports lighting
  • the play space
  • the batting cage.

These upgrades are key initiatives in the Gilbert Park Masterplan, which Council adopted in 2018.

We have started construction on one of the last initiatives in the Masterplan. This includes:

  • a new wetland
  • a viewing platform
  • carpark upgrades.

The wetland will provide many community benefits, including:

  • supporting the environment
  • managing stormwater
  • enabling recreational activities.

We expect to complete the wetland, viewing platform and carpark upgrade by late December 2024, weather permitting.
