- Fire Danger Period begins Monday 10 January
Preventing bushfires is crucial during this time of year.
The Country Fire Authority has declared the Fire Danger Period for Knox begins Monday 10 January at 1am.
During this period, there are specific restrictions on all fire activity. Knox residents are encouraged to check information about banned and permitted activities during the Fire Danger Period at the CFA website.

Phone 000 immediately if you witness any fires or suspicious behaviour.
Hazardous properties
Residents of the Bushfire Management Overlay area [link to Bushfire Management Overlay page] of Knox must maintain their properties to prevent risk of fire. Fire Prevention Notices may be issued to properties that are assessed to have fire hazards, with substantial fines for non-compliance.
