- Art installations at Stamford Park (and win a picnic!)
The Immerse arts festival transforms the City of Knox into a living art gallery, with art popping up across Knox in unexpected places. We have 33 artist exhibitions and digital experiences.
One of the Immerse locations is Stamford Park Homestead in Rowville. You are welcome to wander through the majestic grounds of the Homestead and enjoy art experiences throughout the gardens and surrounding estate. You’ll find installations quietly ‘glitching’ in the garden, sculptural interpretations and a stunning night time projection.
You may come across Gretel Taylor, whose performative dance piece Restless depicts the spirit of an early settler lingering uneasily around the site. The spirit's restlessness is linked to her realisation of the ongoing effects of colonisation, conjured by the 1880s Homestead.
Find out more and access audio tours about other artists appearing at Stamford Park Homestead.
