- Looking for exercise volunteers
Knox’s first Seniors Exercise Park at Carrington Park, 20 Oconnor Rd, Knoxfield is now open to the general public.
We are seeking physically independent older adults, 55 years + who are interested in volunteering to help others regain, maintain and improve their physical abilities and connect socially so as to live their best lives.
Please do not let the words Exercise or Senior deter you! Training will be provided by the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) and COVIDSafe procedures will be in place.
We are working in partnership with NARI to create age-friendly outdoor spaces for older people to engage in physical and social activities within Knox. NARI has worked with other councils and their residents have had wonderful outcomes such as less pain, reduced falls, more strength and improved quality of life.
