- Child Safe standards for community groups
Victoria’s Child Safe Standards are a set of mandatory requirements to protect children and young people from harm and abuse.
This workshop will support community organisations and groups to understand the key requirements they need to fulfil to be compliant with the updated Standards. There will be practical ideas and opportunities to discuss and ask questions. The Standards aim to promote the safety of children; prevent child abuse; and ensure organisations have effective processes in place to respond to and report all allegations of child abuse.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- How to understand the Standards, with a focus on key requirements for organisations in the areas of governance, child safe recruitment and training of staff and volunteers
- Understand how to recognise and report abuse
- Understand the implications for community groups and organisations
