These school holidays, bring your children down to explore the Secret World of Food at Boronia library from 1pm Monday 19 January - 10am Saturday 24 January, during library hours.

This hands-on, interactive experience designed for young children and families will explore the food cycle from farm to compost. It will help kids understand where food comes from and why it matters.

At the Secret World of Food, through pretend play, you can:

  • pick vegetables from a farm
  • take them to market
  • cook them
  • compost the scraps

This activation supports our community to create healthier food systems and educate about sustainable food practices. The Secret World of Food is a great opportunity for children to learn about the journey food takes from farm to plate through an interactive adventure.

This initiative is supported in our Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan, under Theme 1 - Enhancing community connection to vital services and resources and Theme 2 – Embracing connection, inclusion and diversity. Further information is available on the Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan webpage.
