Coming soon, your chance to have your say on waste

We need to manage a waste service that meets everyone’s needs, is affordable and reduces how much we send to landfill. In November we will be asking how satisfied you are with our household waste services.

Consultation will take place from 10 November to 7 December and will include opportunities for residents to share their feedback in person or through an online survey.  

Feedback will be gathered on: 

  • household rubbish collection
  • household recycling collection
  • household food and garden waste collection
  • bundled branch and hard waste collection
  • awareness of alternative waste collection options

The survey will also be an opportunity to learn more about how our community is managing waste under the current system and collection frequencies and the outcomes achieved, including landfill diversion rates.  

We will consider your feedback in the future when planning waste services along with environmental outcomes, financial sustainability and operational impacts.

Details on how to participate in the survey will be shared in November.  Interviewers will be visiting some homes across Knox to ask questions, but feedback can also be submitted online via our Have Your Say website. Subscribe to Council’s eNewsletter to stay informed.

Waste services in Knox are being delivered in line with the 2022 Waste and Resource Strategy and state government policy Recycling Victoria: a new circular economy.
