Supporting efficient and safe commuting

Share your commuting experience to help us prioritise transport assets for delivery and maintenance. Come along to our pop-up at Knox Fest on 28 February.

We are developing a new Transport Asset Management Plan 2026-2036 to support efficient and safe commuting in Knox.

The value of our diverse transport assets is $1.1billion, it consists of

  • Roads (729.7km) and Carparks (252) $903.4 million
  • Paths (1,456km) $173.6 million
  • 108 Structures (including bridges and culverts) $20.6 million

The aim of the Transport Asset Management Plan is to keep Knox safe, liveable, resilient and sustainable. The plan will identify continuous improvement opportunities when managing Council’s transport assets to support better management practices and outcomes.

It will incorporate a comprehensive assessment of Council assets, including current asset condition, service levels and service gaps. Future actions around maintenance and renewal works will be outlined in the plan.

Your feedback will give us insight into what it is like to commute around Knox in various ways, including by foot, bike, car and public transport. The information you share will also help us identify improvement opportunities and service gaps.

After this community engagement, we will develop a draft Transport Asset Management Plan and invite your feedback.

Community feedback closes 15 March 2026. Further information is available on our Have your say website.
