This workshop will help you create a new Child Safe Policy or update the one you already have, so it meets the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

A Child Safe Policy is designed to protect children from physical, emotional, and sexual harm, and to create a safe and supportive environment where children feel respected and empowered. Your policy will help you to: meet your legal responsibilities; reduce risks during programs and activities; and clearly explain how to report concerns or incidents.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how to involve staff, volunteers, families, and children when developing your policy
  • Know where to find helpful resources and training
  • Be able to create a Child Safe Policy
  • Learn how to share and explain the policy clearly
  • Understand when and how to review and update your policy
