- Community pop-up: Kings Park play space
We’re replacing the playground at Kings Park in Upper Ferntree Gully with a new intergenerational play space and active zone as part of the Kings Park masterplan.
A new basketball half court and picnic area are already planned for construction and will be completed by mid 2026.
For the remaining play space area, a draft concept design has been developed, with ideas including:
- a scooter track
- intergenerational meditative grasslands
- a nature play area for younger children
- an adventurous rope course with a Rapunzel-style climbing tower.
Come to the community pop-up at Coonara Community House on Tuesday 5 May between 9.30am and 12pm to have your say on the playground designs in person.
For more information or to have your say online, visit the Kings Park play space Have Your Say page.
