Help shape the new play space at Kings Park

We’re replacing the existing playground at Kings Park, Upper Ferntree Gully, with a new intergenerational play space and active zone as part of the Kings Park Masterplan initiative.

During previous community consultation, we heard that you want a bigger and better space that supports play and activities for people of all ages and better connected to nearby facilities.

Now we’re taking the next step in bringing that vision to life. A new basketball half court and picnic area are already planned for construction and will be completed by mid 2026.

For the remaining play space area, a draft concept plan has been developed, with ideas including a scooter track, intergenerational meditative grasslands, a nature play area for younger children, and an adventurous rope course with a Rapunzel-style climbing tower. The design supports play, relaxation and activity for all ages and integrates a natural swale to manage stormwater across the site.

We’d like your feedback on the draft design for the remaining play space area.

Find out how to have your say on our Have Your Say website.

Consultation closes by 11:55 pm on Sunday 24 May 2026.
