2026 Nature Stewards Program

Curious about the plants, animals, and ecosystems in Knox? Join the 2026 Nature Stewards Program and explore the natural beauty around us.

The 10-week program running between May and July invites you to discover more about the natural environment around you. 


The program will include the following topics:

  • Ecology and ecosystems
  • Indigenous cultures and places including ways to care for Country
  • Geology and soils
  • Flora, fungi and fauna
  • Waterways and water life
  • Seasons, climate and fire ecology, and;
  • How to become a citizen scientist, conservation volunteer, or nature guide.

Program details 

Saturday 2 May 2026 – Saturday 11 July 2026 (excluding public holiday weekends – 6 June 2026). 

Typical classes run from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and there will 4-6 field trips (3 hours length) held in the afternoons after class throughout the course.

Open to anyone 18 years and over. 

Register by Sunday 19 April.
