1812 Overture (with apologies to Tchaikovsky) by Stephen Welsh

Image
Split scene showing a warmly lit interior: on the left, a wooden bench and small chair against a wall are illuminated by low sunlight casting long shadows; on the right, several umbrellas with curved handles rest in a stand beside a textured wall.

Overture means something introductory in both musical and non-musical contexts. Step behind the scenes and discover the theatre through the camera’s lens.

Local artist Stephen Welsh has captured the volunteers as they bring a production to life. From building and painting sets, to supporting front of house, managing backstage and everything in between.

This project reveals the dedication, creativity and collaboration that happens beyond the spotlight.

Time: Viewable at all times, illuminated from dark
