Seeing Eye to Eye While the World Goes Blind by Clara Mee Yee Chan

Image
Two small, surreal creature sculptures with oversized single eyes sit on the branch of a tree in an outdoor setting. One figure reclines against the branch while the other stands upright; both have textured, handmade surfaces. Pine needles and branches frame the scene, with buildings and a walkway visible in the background.

This project includes an installation, wearable artworks and a public performance that explores human entanglement with nature through the creation of visual metaphors. These artworks explore the relationship between human and non-human, and the imagined and real. They engage the public to see eye-to-eye with all other beings.
