- Safer, smoother local journeys with road and path upgrades complete
How we get around our community has recently been improved with road, crossing and path upgrades completed on Blackwood Park Road, from Ormonde Road to Monbulk Creek, Ferntree Gully and Templeton Street, between Burwood Highway and Crestdale Road, Wantirna.
Improvements include:
- New road surfaces, including asphalt works
- Replacement of damaged kerb and gutters
- New pedestrian road crossings
- Reconstruction of stormwater drains
The bike lane at Templeton Street has also been resurfaced and painted with new line markings making the lane easier to identify and offering a smoother cycling experience.

These upgrades are part of our annual Capital Works Program. The investment offers pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles safer access to local facilities and public transport and helps everyone in Knox to remain mobile and connected.
Future road, footpath and cycling lane upgrades planned for this financial year include Acacia Road, Upper Ferntree Gully, Borg Crescent in Scoresby and Sasses Avenue in Bayswater. More details can be found in the 26/27 Annual Budget.
