- Creek Complete!
We’re thrilled to unveil a new beginning for Wantirna South – the completion of the Reimagining Blind Creek and Lewis Park project.
In 2018, Council worked in partnership with Melbourne Water and State Government to engage local users of Blind Creek and its open space to discuss plans for the area.
Together, we have been able to transform the area into a space that benefits both community and environment – creating a complete tranquil habitat.
In addition to naturalising the creek, we have constructed three new wetlands, a range of foot paths, a boardwalk, and other amenities including seating benches and viewing platforms for the community to enjoy.
The new section of the creek stretches from Scoresby Road into the Lewis Park Precinct, connecting with the works from Scoresby Road to Manuka Drive completed in 2020.
Free community event
To celebrate the opening, there will be a free community event at Blind Creek & Lewis Park this Saturday 7 December, from 11:00am - 2:00pm. There will be live music and entertainment, kids’ activities, face painting, an adventure hunt and more.
We invite you to head out, enjoy stunning views of the water, vegetation and local habitats in your own backyard this summer and beyond!
