- Local Legends Crowned
Last night, Council proudly celebrated the annual Sport & Leisure Awards, recognising the outstanding contribution and service of Knox sport and leisure club volunteers and programs.
Winners were awarded across six categories, including Club of the Year, Best Club-Initiated Program, Club Person of the Year (Adult), Club Person of the Year (Junior), Women in Sport Leadership and Years of Service.
Club of the Year
Knox Obedience Dog Club took home the top honour, after decades of outstanding volunteer-driven dog training.
Best Club‑Initiated Program
Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club claimed the award for their impactful Christmas Toy and Food Drive program.
Club Person of the Year – Adult
Kristi Disney from Templeton Cricket Club was honoured for her Club dedication. Unable to attend, her trophy was accepted on her behalf by Sean Meehan.

- Kingston Johnson – Knox City Football Club (trophy accepted by his grandfather)
- Lachlan Munro – Wantirna South Junior Football Club

- Tate Sadler – Knox Baseball Club
Women in Sport Leadership
Dale Nitz from Golden Cobra Martial Arts and Kyllie Moore from Ferntree Gully Tennis Club were recognised for their inclusive practices and leadership for women in sports and leisure.
