- Meals On Wheels Volunteers Needed
Come and make a difference to seniors in Knox by becoming a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Our Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver ready-made, nutritious meals to seniors’ homes in Knox, Monday to Friday.
Volunteering with Meals on Wheels is incredibly rewarding and you’re not only providing nutritious meals but also offering a warm smile and friendly conversation to those who may really need it
As one volunteer shared -
“I enjoy seeing people’s smiling faces when I arrive with a hearty meal. I like hearing people’s stories and being able to share a laugh. For some residents, I might be the only person they see that day, so this service is an important connecting point”.
To be a Meals on Wheels volunteer, you need to:
• Be a friendly, team-orientated person
• Have you own car and the ability to follow the route maps for the meal deliveries
• A current driver’s license
• Receive a National Criminal History Check (via Knox City Council)
• Provide two referees for Knox to conduct reference checks
