Paint & picnic

Young people who are learning outside of traditional school settings are invited to pick up a paintbrush and get creative at a new art program in Boronia this spring.

Paint & Picnic is a free four-week art program for young people aged 14 to 18. Held in the beautiful gardens of Millers Homestead, the program gives participants the chance to learn new artistic skills, meet other young people and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of creativity.

Running every Friday 1:30pm – 3:30pm from 9 October to 30 October, the workshops will help develop their drawing and painting abilities while exploring a range of creative techniques. Participants will learn how to create and organise their own sketchbook and receive a drawing kit to take home.

Throughout the program, young people will be introduced to traditional art techniques, including observational drawing and painting fundamentals. They'll also have the opportunity to experiment with watercolour and gouache paints, or explore their own creative interests using a variety of art and craft materials available during the sessions.

Whether you’re completely new to art or already enjoy drawing and painting, all skill levels are welcome.

All materials and afternoon tea will be provided. Places are limited and registration is required.
