Register now for kindergarten in 2026

Families will have even more choices of kindergarten sessions for their children in 2026 and beyond.

Council provides one easy way for local families to register their child for kindergarten without having to contact multiple kindergartens.

This year, the central registration scheme has been expanded to include kindergarten programs that have not previously participated.

Registrations for 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten places in 2026 are now open.

Registrations must be received by 15 July to be included in the first round of allocations with offers provided in August. Registrations continue all year round.

Proposed groups and session times for 2026 are available on our website. These groups and session times may need to change based on the registrations we receive.

All kindergarten providers must meet national quality standards and regulations. Every service is assessed and rated against seven areas of quality. These ratings are published publicly.

Participating kindergarten programs receive funding directly from the Victorian Government so families are not out of pocket (and don’t have to claim the savings back). 

If your child attends kindergarten at child care, please talk to your centre for information about fees.
