- Reimagining Public Art
Council is inviting community members, artists, and art lovers to help shape the direction of two much-loved murals in Bayswater and The Basin — each with its own unique story and future.
Bayswater
The mural on the water tank at Marie Wallace Bayswater Park is set to be completely reimagined. This is a chance to start fresh — we’re seeking your input to guide the direction and theme of a brand-new artwork.
What would you like to see? Whether it’s colours, stories, or imagery that reflect the local area, your ideas will help bring this new artwork to life.
The Basin
The Chandlar Oak mural, located on the exterior wall of Rainy Day Books (1301 Mountain Highway, The Basin).
As the mural ages, we want your input on its future:
- Restoration: a replication that preserves the original design
- Refreshing: a contemporary interpretation that stays true to the spirit of the original
This is your opportunity to help ensure this iconic artwork continues to inspire for years to come.
How to Have Your Say
Feedback is open until Sunday 25 May via the Have Your Say website.
You can also join us in person at one of two pop-up sessions:
- Thursday 15 May, at The Basin Village, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm
- Monday 19 May, at Marie Wallace Bayswater Park from 10:00am – 11:00am
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas!
