- Free Movies For Seniors
Knox seniors are invited to beat the chill this winter with a free three‑part Winter Warmer movie series designed to strengthen community connections.
Held at the Knox Community Arts Centre in Bayswater, each session provides an opportunity not only to enjoy a wonderful movie, but to learn more about the range of programs and services Council has available for our residents.
Screenings
Oddball — Tuesday 30 June, 10.30am
The series opens with Oddball, a family‑friendly Australian favourite. Attendees are also welcome to bring their grandchildren to this session, with a pre‑film presentation celebrating the importance of intergenerational connection.
Champions — Friday 17 July, 5.30pm
The second screening features Champions (2023), a feel‑good sports comedy about a basketball coach working with players with an intellectual disability. A mini expo of inclusive sporting groups from across Knox will run beforehand.
My Man Godfrey — Thursday 30 July, 10.30am
The finale is the 1936 screwball comedy classic My Man Godfrey, screened in recognition of Homelessness Week. Guests may bring a non‑perishable food donation to support local food‑relief efforts, though contributions are optional.
