Movie night celebrates inclusion

We are hosting a free family friendly movie event and sausage sizzle on Friday 4 December to celebrate International Day of People with Disability in partnership with Melbourne All Abilities Lions Club. Book now.

Enjoy a screening of critically acclaimed movie ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ in our beautiful theatre at Knox Community Arts Centre in Bayswater.

The film centres around a boy and his foster father as they become subjects of a manhunt after getting lost in the New Zealand wilderness.

Based on the novel Wild Pork and Watercress, this adventure comedy movie was written and directed by Taika Waititi and starring Sam Neill.

Before the movie starts, you can enjoy a tasty sausage sizzle, play fun outdoor lawn games and capture memories in the photobooth.

We have invited guest speakers with disability to share their lived in experience in our Q&A session.

Their inspiring and courageous stories aim to foster greater understanding to contribute to a more inclusive community.

In Knox, approximately 17.2% of people in Knox live with a disability. Talking openly about experiences of disability can lead to a more accepting society where everyone can thrive.

We hope you can join us at this special celebration.
