New rates payment system offers greater flexibility

Council is making it easier for ratepayers to manage their payments with the launch of an easier and more flexible direct debit online payment platform called Payble.

Available to all ratepayers, Payble is being offered in addition to existing payment options such as BPAY, Australia Post, Knox phone and website payments, and in-person payments at the Knox Civic Centre.

You can sign up through Council's website or by scanning the QR code on your 2026-27 rates notice, issued in August.

Once you've created a Payble account, you can make secure one-off payments or set up a weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment schedule. You'll also receive SMS or email reminders about upcoming and overdue payments, and you can update your payment arrangements at any time without contacting Council.

If you were previously paying your rates through direct debit, please note that the previous direct debit arrangement has been cancelled. New direct debit details must be set up through Payble.

Rates provide vital funding for the services and infrastructure our community relies on every day. Council's Annual Budget 2026-27 invests $130.7 million in services and $54.6 million in capital works, reflecting the priorities identified by our community.

Anyone experiencing financial hardship in paying their rates is encouraged to contact Council as soon as possible to discuss available support.
