There is currently an increase in number plate thefts across Victoria. These can be expensive to replace and can be used by criminals to commit other crimes.
To reduce your number plate being stolen it is important to secure it and park in a safe and well-lit area.
You can secure your number plate by replacing the current screws to anti-theft screws or pop rivets. Anti-theft screws are fitted with a standard phillips head screwdriver but can only be removed with a special tool that police have.
