Survey deadline extended: Help us make Knox more age-friendly

Council has extended the survey deadline for Knox residents aged 55-plus to have their say on how to make Knox more age-friendly now and into the future.

Carers and families of people aged 55-plus are also invited to take part in the survey, which is open until 15 November.

About the survey

In 2019, we joined New York City, London, Delhi, and thousands more cities and communities around the world to become a member of the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities.

Council’s Age-Friendly City Survey is based on WHO’s Age-Friendly Communities framework, which looks at eight important areas of everyday life. These are: Housing, Social Participation, Respect and Social Inclusion, Civic Participation and Employment, Communication and Information, Community Support and Health Care, Outdoor Spaces and Buildings, and Transportation.

Your responses will provide a valuable snapshot of how our community is performing across these areas, including what is working well and where improvements could be made.

Why your feedback is important

The information gathered will be used by Council to:

  • Guide future planning and delivery of services and programs
  • Identify priorities for further community engagement and consultation
  • Determine topics requiring advocacy efforts to other organisations and all levels of government on behalf of local residents

Who should take part?

We welcome input from:

  • Residents aged 55 and over
  • Carers of someone aged 55 and over

Quick and easy to complete

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Submit your responses by Sunday 15 November.
