Supporting community action in Knox

The Minor Grants Program offers accessible funding to support community-led activities that strengthen volunteer effort and civic participation across Knox. Aligned with the Council and Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025-29, the program supports small, short-term projects, equipment purchases or minor repairs that deliver clear community benefit.

Grants of up to $2,500 are available, with applications assessed and allocated monthly, making this a flexible option for time-sensitive or one-off initiatives.

Knox City Cricket Club received a grant to assist with the launch of their first ever women’s cricket team.  The grant was for some pre-season coaching and nets to help with development of their team.

Club secretary Nilakshi Perera shares “I think we all truly appreciate not just playing cricket but also the friendships we’ve formed. It’s about women empowering women, lifting each other and creating a supportive space where we inspire more women to step forward, give it a go and be part of something bigger. And because we started from scratch, anyone new to the game is more than welcome to join us. We understand exactly what it’s like to be a beginner and are here to support them every step of the way”.

If your group has a small but meaningful idea that will benefit Knox residents, the Minor Grants Program could be the right fit.
