Applications are now open for young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work or play in Knox to join our 2027 Youth Advisory Committee.
The Youth Advisory Committee provides an amazing opportunity for young people to practice active citizenship, inform the future of Knox’s services, gain confidence in participating in civic/community engagement processes, and meet other likeminded young people from Knox.
The Youth Advisory Committee have contributed to several topics and Council projects, including parks and open spaces, making Knox more child-friendly, the Council and Health and Wellbeing plan, Climate Response Plan, and more.
As a member you will:
- Share your ideas for your local community and hear about how they can impact the people of Knox
- Have your say about local issues that affect young people
- Develop your skills and experience with free training and opportunities
- Meet other likeminded young people in Knox
- Bolster your CV and access a team of youth workers who are able to provide you advice and prepare for your future
- Meet monthly
Meetings are set to commence in February 2027.
