Ready for the future

Home to the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club and Boronia Cricket Club, the redeveloped Tormore Reserve Pavilion provides modern, accessible facilities designed to support local sport and community connection for years to come.

The result has transformed the pavilion into a modern, inclusive and accessible facility, with improved player and umpire amenities, enhanced community spaces and upgraded support facilities.

Tormore Reserve has long been part of Boronia's sporting story. Once a market garden, the reserve evolved into the sporting hub it is today, providing a home for local cricket and football and supporting generations of community sport.

While participation in local sport continued to grow, the former pavilion remained largely unchanged since 1976. After decades of service, the ageing facility no longer met the needs of modern clubs and visitors, lacking adequate change rooms, dedicated female amenities, and suitable training and first aid spaces.

Wayne Preston, Senior Vice President of the Boronia Hawks Football Netball Club, said the new clubrooms were an investment in the future of both the club and the broader community.

"As a purpose-built facility, it will support our growing football and netball programs for years to come," Mr Preston said. "Local sporting clubs are the heartbeat of a community, promoting fitness, connection and wellbeing, and we look forward to welcoming even more people into our inclusive club."

The pavilion is a key milestone in the vision for Tormore Reserve, set out in the 2016 Tormore Reserve Masterplan. The facility provides modern, accessible spaces for people to come together, stay active and connect.

This project was jointly funded by Knox City Council, with $5 million from the Australian Government and $1.2 million from the Victorian Government through the Community Support Fund.
