Asset Plan

Information on Knox Council's Asset Plan, which determines how we manage Council's assets across their life cycle.

The Asset Plan provides strategic direction on how Council cost-effectively manages our community’s assets to meet evolving needs.

Council manages $1.237 billion worth of community assets (excluding land value), including:

  • buildings
  • roads and footpaths
  • sporting facilities
  • drainage systems
  • bushland
  • playgrounds

The Asset Plan guides how Council prioritises and manages community assets over a 10-year period. It sets out principles for using, maintaining, building, acquiring, and disposing of infrastructure assets.

Council developed this plan alongside the Community and Financial Plans to ensure we have the right resources to deliver initiatives set out in the Council Plan 2021–2025 and meet community aspirations.

Community engagement on the draft plan

We are developing a new Asset Plan.

The community was invited to share their thoughts on how Council should manage community assets worth $1.88 billion over the next 10 years.

We have a budget of $689.69 million to manage community assets for the next 10 years, and we developed the draft Asset Plan to guide how we do this.

Feedback was invited on the draft plan before we finalise it. It was a chance for the community to identify opportunities and issues that had not been captured.

Feedback closed 1 August 2025. Visit our Have Your Say page for more information on the engagement.

Current Asset Plan (2022 - 2032)

This plan:

  • outlines our approach to strategic and infrastructure planning over the next decade
