Location

Gifted by

Mr. Ramon Leslie Cowling in 2017.

The Ramon Cowling Bushland Reserve is a bushland reserve accessible to the community.

Terms 

A section 173 agreement outlined the following requirements associated with the gift:

  • The land must be used for the purposes of a bushland reserve
  • Council to take steps to ensure a permit for demolition of all buildings on the land
  • Council to rezone the land from Residental 3 Zone to Conservation Zone
  • Council to provide a public walkway on the land.

Ambleside Historic Homestead

Location

1 to 3 Olivebank Road, Ferntree Gully.

Property type

2 acres of land containing 1 historic homestead.

Zoning

Public Park and Recreation Zone.

Gifted by

Mr. Oliver David and Mrs. Mabel Maud David in the 1970s.

Current use

The Ambleside Historic Homestead is currently licenced to the Knox Historical Society to deliver local history programs and activities including records collection, preservation and storage, museum displays, educational and public tours, research, meetings and related heritage activities.

Terms

Terms associated with the gift include:

  • land is not to be subdivided
  • land is to be used for the preservation of Knox history and be auspiced by the Knox Historical Society.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 22 May 2023, Council resolved to publish a public register of land gifted or bequeathed to Knox City Council.
