Leasing and Licensing Policy
This policy provides a framework for leasing and licensing Council owned and managed properties.
Proposed changes to our Leasing and Licensing Policy
Council is reviewing how we manage leases and licenses for Council buildings and land.
Council is developing a new Leasing and Licensing Policy 2025-2029 to improve transparency, consistency and equitability for tenants.
Lease and License agreements are a large and complex area for Council to manage. Council has around 100 buildings or land parcels that are occupied under a lease or license agreement.
The aim of the policy is to provide guidelines on how we enter and manage lease and license agreements for Council buildings and land, including legislative requirements.
Proposed changes in the policy include incorporating more accessible language, simplifying processes, and adding new guidelines to meet community needs.
Community feedback opens Wednesday 23 April and closes 5pm Wednesday 21 May 2025.
