Service Updates

We are prioritising critical services and some services may be reduced. This means there will be longer wait times for customers contacting us by phone. Many of our services are available online. Advice on which services can continue is changing rapidly. For regular updates, go to

Principal Pedestrian Network

Walking and Cycling are the heathiest modes of transportation. Best suited for shorter trips, many people walk to local destinations such as shops, cafes, parks or schools. Many public transport journeys include walking to a bus stop or train station and then walking to the final destination.

Greater levels of walking participation is a major objective of Knox Council to build a healthier, more inclusive and safer city. To encourage more walking trips within the municipality, it is imperative that walking links are safe, convenient and attractive, and that guidance for walkers is clear. The Knox Principal Pedestrian Network will be used by Council as a guide to prioritise its future investigations and infrastructure upgrades to those links that are key connections across the municipality.
