Short Term Support service

The Short Term Support service helps connect community members in Knox with the services they need.

What is the service?

The Short Term Support service connects people to Council services and external services with support for different issues.

This includes:

  • isolation or loneliness
  • financial hardship
  • emotional or mental health issues
  • ageing
  • illness
  • difficult family relationships, conflict or mistreatment.

We can also connect you to services if you are having issues managing your home. For example, cleaning and meal services.

This is a free service. If needed, we can organise an interpreter to use this service.

Who can use the service?

The Short Term Support service is available to any Knox resident.

The service is also for organisations supporting Knox residents. For example:

  • emergency relief agencies
  • hospitals and health care providers
  • housing organisations
  • law enforcement.
