What you can take to the transfer station
Use the transfer station for house and garden clean-ups, larger items, and items we do not accept in our hard rubbish collection service.
You can also use the transfer station if you have already used your 2 hard rubbish collections for the year.
Local businesses can dispose of waste and recycling at the transfer station.
The Knox transfer station transfers and recycles a wide range of items. Discover what you can and can't drop off.
Some items attract a fee, including paint, motor oil, gas bottles, mattresses and some electrical items. Check Gate Prices at Knox Transfer Stations & Recycling Facilities.
Fees
You may need to pay fees to drop off some items. Fees are calculated per cubic metre or sometimes per tonne, but some items are free.
The gate attendant determines the volume of loads and pricing. Check the Knox Transfer Station & Recycling Facility website for current fees.
