Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy aims to improve your safety and independence at home. It does this by working with you on alternative ways to complete tasks and use aids and equipment.

About the service

The occupational therapist will show you different ways to do an activity to make it easier or safer, and trial equipment in your home such as:

  • shower stools
  • chair raisers
  • dressing, cooking or eating aids.

They also make recommendations for the home modifications service or referrals to other useful local services, such as a podiatrist.

Fees

Fees for these services are based on the household income and vary for each service or resident. Fees will be discussed with you before any service is provided.
