About the rebate program

In 2023, Knox partnered with six other Victorian councils to deliver the study ‘Investigating reusable period and continence products’. The study identified several barriers that made it harder for people to use reusable products, including:

  • High upfront costs
  • Limited access to clear information
  • Difficulty storing products when away from home
  • Challenges with washing and changing them in public.

Following this research, Knox is now working with Greener Everyday to help residents reduce the cost of switching to reusable products.

Eligible households can receive:

  • Up to $50 per household towards reusable period products
  • Up to $65 per household towards reusable continence products

Households will pay at least 50% of the total cost of each order. The rebate covers the remaining amount.

This rebate is available only to Knox residents. Eligibility will be verified by Greener Everyday and Knox City Council when orders are placed.

This trial is planned to run for one year, or until funds are fully allocated. Residents are encouraged to apply early.
