Retrofitting of Additional Street Parking Infrastructure Policy

Knox City Council has a process for adding extra on-street parking on narrow streets.

This is part of our Retrofitting of Additional On-street Parking Infrastructure Policy.

About our policy

This policy is to maintain the safe movement of traffic.

Indented car parking bays are usually installed by developers when they build. Council does not fund parking bays for individual property owners.

You can apply for permission to construct an indented parking bay on a narrow street at your own cost. A narrow street is less than 7.2m wide between the face of the existing kerbs.

Your bay must comply with our Retrofitting of Additional On-street Parking Infrastructure on Narrow Residential Streets Policy.
