The Rowville Community Centre offers a range of lifestyle, health and community activities for all ages and fitness levels.

Council programs

Every week there are over 120 hours of programs for children, young people and adults.

Living Longer Living Stronger

The Living Longer Living Stronger (LLLS) program is an accredited Council of the Ageing (COTA) resistance training program for people over 50 to:

  • increase bone density
  • muscle strength
  • metabolic rate

Our Living Longer Living Stronger classes:

  • are conducted in a safe and supportive environment
  • provide an opportunity to socialise both during and after each session
  • are taught by qualified fitness professionals

To participate in this program, you will need to submit an LLLS Referral Form. This must be completed by a medical or allied health practitioner.

Classes are currently full for Term 1 and waiting lists are closed until the start of Term 2.

Fees

The fee is $8.00 per session.

Senior sports

Senior Sports is a program that runs every:

  • Monday
  • Tuesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday

Please make sure you have a basic understanding of the rules before coming to your first session, as these are not facilitated by a coach.

Fees

There are no membership fees. The cost is $6.00, pay as you play, with all equipment supplied.

Pickleball social sports

Pickleball is a paddle sport played with two (singles) or four (doubles) and combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.

Please make sure you have a basic understanding of the rules before coming to your first session, as these are not facilitated by a coach. You can learn more at Pickleball Victoria.

Social Pickleball is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please note this session will not run during school holidays.

Cost is $8.50 per player. All equipment supplied.

Social Sports Pickleball - Tuesdays 8 pm to 9:30 pm

Stretch and tone

Regular strength training can protect joints from injury. It also improves your ability to do everyday activities.

This class helps you increase your strength, fitness and muscle tone using light weights, resistance bands and bodyweight exercises.

Fees

The cost is $12.00 per class.

Yoga Hatha

Yoga helps build strength, awareness and harmony in both the body and the mind. Attending regular practice can also improve your balance, core strength and flexibility.

This is a great class for beginners.

Fees

The cost is $16 per class.

Gentle exercise

A low impact exercise class designed with older adults in mind. Work at your own pace with the guidance of a qualified fitness instructor. Build your fitness level, improve bone density and boost your circulation.

The cost is $8.00 per class.
