Rates payment help

We can help if you're having trouble paying your rates.

If you're struggling to pay your Council rates on time, we offer two types of payment options:

Instalments: for paying your rates in smaller amounts across the year. Visit our Pay your Rates webpage for more information.

Payment plans: for paying overdue rates or debt in regular amounts over time

Learn more below about setting up a payment plan below.

Setting up a payment plan for overdue rates

If you’ve missed one or more payments and have rates in arrears, you can apply for a payment plan. This allows you to pay off your overdue amount in smaller, regular payments over time.

When you set up a payment plan, you must:

  • choose to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly
  • start making payments within 1 month of applying

We suggest the following minimum payments:

  • $100 weekly
  • $200 fortnightly
  • $400 monthly

Interest may still apply until your overdue amount is paid in full.
