Bayswater Renewal Strategy

We are building a better Bayswater to help ensure it remains a desirable place to live, work and play through the Bayswater Renewal Strategy.

The Bayswater Renewal Strategy is a planning framework to guide development to support population growth and housing needs, while protecting Bayswater’s distinctive character. In addition, it also aims to balance economic, social and environmental matters

Current Structure Plan

Land use and development of the Centre has been guided by the Bayswater 2020: Bayswater Activity Centre Structure Plan which was adopted by Council in 2005.

This Structure Plan is outdated, and we are developing a new plan for Bayswater Activity Centre to address current changes and challenges within Bayswater.

New Plan for Bayswater

We have developed a draft Bayswater Renewal Strategy to ensure the Bayswater Activity Centre continues to be a thriving hub for community life and business until 2040.

Community engagement in 2020 and 2022, helped inform priorities and initiatives identified in the draft strategy.

Have your Say

We are inviting community feedback on the draft Bayswater Renewal Strategy , which aims to meet community needs and aspirations.

Feedback we receive from this phase of community engagement will help us to finalise the strategy.

Key initiatives include supporting population growth and housing needs, transforming Penguin Place and Macauley Place, and developing a night-time economy.

You can provide feedback, subscribe to updates or find out more information by following 'Building a Better Bayswater' project on our Have your say website.
