Detox Your Home of Household Chemicals

Detox your Home is a free and easy way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals. Collected items are recycled, not sent to landfill.

There are 31 Detox Your Home mobile collections in Victoria each year. The program is run by Sustainability Victoria in partnership with local councils.

Detox Your Home - Knox

by Sustainability Victoria

A free, contactless service to safely dispose of unwanted toxic household chemicals.

About this Event

Date and Time
Sunday, 11 April 2021
8:00am - 3:00pm AEST

Location
Knox Operations Centre

Toxic household chemicals, such as cleaning products, pool chemicals, pesticides and weed killer, can be safely disposed of for free at Sustainability Victoria's Detox Your Home events. Collected items are recovered for reuse or safely disposed of.

'Detox Your Home' events are now drive through (no walk ins) and contactless, supported by a COVIDsafe plan.

This service is for household chemicals only.

We don't take paint, fluorescent lights and batteries.

  • The maximum acceptable weight or size for any single container is 20 kilograms or 20 litres.
  • Decanting isn't permitted, so bring chemicals in disposable, clearly labelled containers. If you don't know what's inside, label the item as 'unknown'.

  • Stay in your car and our trained chemists will do the rest.
  • Remember to follow all current public health measures at the time, including wearing a face covering and staying home if you feel unwell.
