Council's Access Keys are customised accessibility guides which provide accurate and convenient information about accessing venues and events. This information includes navigation to the venue, layout, parking, identification of staff, toilet location and environmental specifications. They are universally designed and suitable for all people but may be particularly beneficial for visitors with Autism, cognitive impairment, intellectual disability or anxiety. An Access Key supports the user to understand what to expect when visiting venues and events.
We also support families to attend a Storytime visit at Knox Library with the help of a customised Social Story. The Social Story can be used in conjunction with the Access Key, or on its own to help prepare children for social interaction at Storytime.
