Knox Playspace Renewal Program 2017-18

Gravenstien Reserve

The focus of this year’s work within the following nine sites is to renew the playgrounds and improve each of the reserves. The existing play equipment has been assessed and will be renewed according to its quality of play, accessibility and structural integrity.

Wally Tew Reserve Regional Playground Renewal, Ferntree Gully

Landscape construction works have been completed, resulting in a range of new play opportunities for all ages and abilities.

‘Forest Floor’ is the theme for the new play space, which will include bug sculptures, mushroom play structures, a dry creek bed, sandpit and landscape play areas to encourage nature play. Other features include junior and senior play structures, a liberty swing, a basket swing, two double swings, a flying fox, net structures, shelters with picnic tables, accessible paths, park furniture such as bike racks, drinking fountains, seats, garden beds and tree planting.
