Knox Children and Family Centres – Wantirna South and Bayswater

Our 2 Children and Family Centres in Bayswater and Wantirna South bring together a number of different services for children and their families in one location. They are designed to give families easier access to multiple services.

Education and care services include:

  • playgroups.

The Knox Children and Family Centres are designed to bring together many different kinds of services for children and families in one location. This assists families to have a better awareness of the extensive early years services we offer and provides easier access to multiple services.

All services under one roof also means that your child's development can easily be supported from early age through to kindergarten without the need for repeat conversations between families and staff.

Services

Services at our centres include:

Long day care

We provide childcare and education for children between birth to 5 years. The program operates Monday to Friday 7am to 6 pm.

Our Long Day Care program provides a healthy, stable education and learning environment for children. Our experienced and professional staff welcome families into our friendly centres where each child's individual needs are our priority.

Both centres offer education and care 49 weeks of the year.

Fees

$157.50 per day per child (1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023). 

Our fees are reviewed every financial year.

Kindergarten in our Long Day Care program

This program is delivered by qualified Early Childhood teachers and runs Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm to allow for flexibility for parents with work commitments.
Three- year-old children receive 5 hours per week of funded Kindergarten.

Four-year-old children receive 15 hours per week of funded Kindergarten. To ensure that your child receives 15 hours per week, they must attend 3 days a week.

Sessional kindergarten

Sessional kindergarten at our Children and Family Centres runs for:

  • 5 hours a week for 3 year-olds (1 x 5 hour session)
  • 15 hours a week for 4 year-olds (2 x 7.5 hour sessions)

Sessional kindergarten is funded by the Victorian Government. Families do not pay fees to attend sessional kindergarten.

In addition to kindergarten at our Children and Family Centres, Knox City Council runs sessional kindergartens at other locations across Knox.

Long day care

A kindergarten program is run during Long Day Care for 3-year-old and 4-year-old children enrolled in our Long Day Care program - see Long day care section above on this page.

Maternal and Child Health service

Our Maternal and Child Health service is a free and confidential service providing child health and developmental checks, information, advice and support to families with young children from birth to 6 years.

Playgroups

We operate a range of playgroups for children aged birth to preschool age.

No Jab No Play

All children enrolling in our early childhood education and care services must be up to date with their immunisation or have an approved exemption.

'No Jab No Play' is the Victorian Government legislation requiring all children to be fully immunised before enrolling in any childcare and/or kindergarten in Victoria.
